Volleyball Signs Transfer From Germany

6/5/2001

Huntington, W.Va. -- Marshall's head women's volleyball coach Steffi Legall announced today that Isabell Anderer, from Sinsheim, Germany, has signed a National Letter of Intent to play volleyball at Marshall next season.

Anderer, a 5-9 outside hitter, is tranferring from the Universitat of Mannheim. Anderer will have three years of eligibility at Marshall. While in Germany, Anderer competed in the German Championships with a best result of Third Place. She also represented Germany in 1996 and competed against teams from the U.S. in Florida. Also in 1996, Anderer attended volleyball camps at Florida State University and the University of Central Florida. Arizona State University is the only other school that Anderer considered.

"We're really excited to get a player of Isabell's caliber," Legall said. "It is a tremendous opportunity to get an outside hitter with international experience. She will bring a great deal of leadership to a very young team."

Anderer joins Nicolette Sanlin as 2001signees for the Thundering Herd.
