Volleyball Loses a Tough Match to NC State

9/7/2001

The Marshall University women's volleyball team was defeated Friday night in the first round of the Outback Wolfpack Classic Volleyball Tournament which is held in Raleigh, N.C.

NC State, the host of the tournament, defeated the Herd in three matches (30-21, 30-9, 32-30).

Junior Jodi Fick led the Thudering Herd. The outside hitter recorded a team best 9 kills and 1 assist. Sophomore Isabelle Anderer posted 6 kills and 1 assist to help the team.

Marshall (0-4) will return to action Saturady. The Herd will compete against Campbell University at 11:30 am. Later in the afternoon they will square off at 4:30 pm against High Point University.
