Volleyball Wins Two Matches at NC State Tournament

The Marshall University volleyball team earned its first two victories of the season Saturday, defeating Campbell University (30-22, 30-28, 30-24) and Hight Point (30-25, 30-25, 30-11). Sophomore Nicole Michal was named the the Outback Wolfpack Classic All-Tournament Team.
In its victory over Campbell, the Herd was paced by sophomore Isabell Anderer with 14 kills and nine digs, while freshman Nicki Sanlin had 12 kills in 18 total attempts for a .556 percentage.
In the evening match against High Point, junior Jodi Fick had 15 kills and Anderer had 11 kills to lead Marshall to a three-game victory over the Panthers. Marshall hit at a .387 clip, with four players hitting better than .400 with at least 10 total attempts.
The Herd will be on the road again Sept. 11 when they travel to Morgantown, W.Va., to take on in-state rival West Virginia University.
