Baseball's Green/White Game Set for Saturday

10/3/2002

HUNTINGTON, W. Va. -- The Marshall University baseball team will play its annual Green and White game on Saturday, Oct. 5, at University Heights. The game is scheduled to start at 12 noon.

The Green and White game is an intrasquad scrimmage made up of two teams that were drafted by this season's captains. In preparation for the Saturday afternoon tilt, the Herd will hold two additional scrimmages on Thursday and Friday.

"The games hold importance because it is a factor in determining who will earn a starting position come spring," says assistant coach Chad Miller.

The Green and White game will mark the unofficial debut of several new Thundering Herd players, a result of a relentless recruiting effort this past off-season by head coach Dave Piepenbrink and his staff.

The Thursday and Friday games are scheduled to begin at 3:30 p.m.
