Herd Baseball Program to Host Holiday Camp

12/4/2002

HUNTINGTON, W. Va. -- The Marshall University baseball program is slated to host its Holiday Camp on Dec. 27-28, featuring detailed instruction by the Thundering Herd coaching staff.

A youth instruction pitching and catching session will take place from 9 a.m. to noon on Dec. 27, in which campers will be taught the fundamentals of each position. A high school pitching and catching showcase is set for 1-4 p.m. Participants hoping to play beyond high school baseball will get the opportunity to display their talents in front of college and professional scouts.

The Saturday sessions are scheduled at the same times as the previous day's events, this time with an emphasis on hitting.

Youths will be critiqued and offered instruction while the high school age participants will again be given the chance to showcase their talents in front of the scouts, while being trained by the Herd staff.

Any questions regarding the Holiday Camp can be directed to assistant coach Chad Miller at (304) 696-7146.
