RICHMOND, Va.--The Marshall University Track and Field Teams gathered eight first-place finishes, their most of the season, this weekend at the Virginia Commonwealth Ram Invitational.

The men had four top finishers in weekend action. Aaron Trammell took first in the shot put (15.74 m), Robert Tant in the pole vault (4.25 m), Craig Swisher in the 10,000m (31:36.92), and Marlon Little in the 100m (10.94). Mark Littlejohn completed a 1-2 sweep in the 100 meters with a second place time of 10.98.

The women were led by 2001 MAC Champion Erin Compton, who grabbed first place finishes in the hammer throw (48.79m) and discus (41.60m). Marshall?s 4 X 100 and 4 X 400 relay teams also finished first, with times of 48.69 and 3:57.38, respectively.
