LEXINGTON, Ky. – Marshall Track & Field junior Gabriel Urraca finished his historic season with a 17.89m throw in Shot Put Wednesday evening at the NCAA Championships East First Rounds.

As a transfer from NC Central, Uracca made an immediate impact on the Herd in 2025-26. The Jacksonville, N.C. native set the school record in the event with his 18.08 throw to podium at the Sun Belt Conference Outdoor Championships. He also holds the top post-2023 mark in the event in indoor season.
Day two for the Herd will take place at 6 p.m. Thursday with Lara Check's Long Jump event.
