Sprinter Arthur West Rejoins Track Team

HUNTINGTON, W.Va.?Marshall Track and Field Head Coach Jeff Small announced today that senior Arthur West will rejoin the track team for the 2002-2003 season after meeting eligibility requirements.
West (Fort Pierce, Fla.) will add more depth to the sprints and jumps for the men?s team. He currently holds school records in the 60m (6.77) and 4x100m relay (40.99), along with current team members John Ferguson and Mark Littlejohn.
In 2001, West?s last competition with the Herd, he set a season best mark of 22-feet-6.5 inches in the long jump at the Mid-American Conference Championships. He also placed 7th at the 2001 MAC Indoor Championships in the 60m sprint.
West is a graduate of Fort Pierce Westwood High School and placed 3rd in the 100m and 5th in the 200m at the Florida State High School Championships.
