Marshall to Battle WV State Baseball in Doubleheader Today
3/12/2003
INSTITUTE, W. Va. -- For the first time this season, the Marshall Thundering Herd baseball team will not travel south to play, but will instead stay in-state to take on the West Virginia State College Yellow Jackets for a doubleheader beginning at 1 p.m. today at Calvin L. Bailey Field.
Marshall (3-8) will go with Fritz Conrad (Ocoee, Fla.) on the mound in game one, followed by Patrick Molinari (Plainfield, Ill.) in game two. Both pitchers have no record thus far in 2003. Conrad will get his first start for Marshall today versus the Yellow Jackets, while Molinari earns start number two.
WV State College is 0-3 on the year after getting swept in its season-opening series. The Herd are in the midst of a three-game losing streak after dropping three on the road last weekend to NC State.
Today's doubleheader will be broadcast on 1240 WBES-AM in the Charleston, W. Va., area.
