Marshall Volleyball Upends NC A&T

GREENSBORO, N.C. -- The Marshall volleyball team won a four-game match, 3-1, over North Carolina A&T in the Aggie Classic on Friday at the Corbett Sports Center.
Marshall (4-4) downed the Aggies (30-26, 21-30, 30-22, 30-21) behind the stellar efforts of Nickie Sanlin (Fairview Heights, Ill.), Tracy King (Miami, Fla.) and Amber Sims (Ney, Ohio). Sanlin recorded 11 kills (.368 hitting percentage) and four blocks while King tallied a team-high 18 kills with an additional four blocks. Sims hit at a .316 clip with 11 kills.
"We are very happy with this win," Marshall head coach Mitch Jacobs said. "North Carolina A&T is a real good team that we had our eye on in this tournament."
The Herd will take on Savannah State at 9 a.m. on Saturday, followed by a 3 p.m. match with Gardner-Webb.
