ABOUT TROY STATE
?This is going to be a huge game at Troy State. They have put everything they?ve had into this game?to have us be their first big time opponent to come into their stadium.?
?This is a game that we have got to manage, and handle the success that we had last week. We have to channel that energy into having a productive week of practice and prepare ourselves to go down and play Troy State. They have an outstanding defensive football team and their quarterbacks have now been able to open it up offensively. They have been very productive the last couple weeks and will provide a big challenge for us.?
ABOUT KANSAS STATE-TROY STATE
(Kansas State 41, Troy State 5) It was early in the year. Kansas State had their quarterback at the time and it was just a different game.
COMPARING TOLEDO AND KANSAS STATE GAMES
?I think the big thing is staying focused in your mental preparation?if you are not focused and in tune with what is going on?you get sloppy. I thought we played hard against Toledo, but we just weren?t with it when we needed to be.?
ABOUT INJURIES ON MU DEFENSE
?We got a lot of nicks and bruises. We need some time off and it is too bad that it won?t come until next week.?
?It?s one of the reasons I thought we had a chance to have a big year?because we have some depth on both sides of the ball. You can have a good football team the first game ,and then have them all (players) on the sideline three weeks later and not be as good.?
ON RUNNING BACKS BUTCHIE WALLACE AND EARL CHARLES
?I thought they stepped up big. With the role they play on our football team this year, they are gong to need to. I think we can run the ball even better than what we have.?
ABOUT NATIONAL ATTENTION FOR THE MAC
?It doesn?t surprise me. These types of things happen when you beat two top ten teams.
Kansas State that?s pretty significant. If you see the votes and things that we (The MAC) are getting in the Coaches? Poll and the AP (poll) ? that?s four or five teams in the MAC getting a whole lot of respect and deservedly so. The College Football Writers voted us team of the week and thats a great thing.?
CONCERNING THE TROY STATE DEFENSE
?They have most of those guys back and I think they may have been the best defense we played last year?.very efficient defensively?They were very good last year and it is the same thing this year.?

?He?s practicing?its still a day to day thing?I think Kent State is a good target for him right now.?
?He will play when they say he is 100%. He will dress this week, where last week we didn?t even dress him.?
