NMSU Downs Herd, 3-1, at Bearcat Invitational

CINCINNATI ? Marshall University was upended by New Mexico State University in volleyball action at the Bearcat Invitational at Fifth Third Arena by a 3-1 (17-30, 31-29, 16-30, 26-30) final tally.

The Aggies (3-1) downed the Thundering Herd (2-3) with the help of Stevi Adams? double-double effort of 11 kills and 10 digs. NMSU?s Trinia Cuseo recorded a .467 hitting percentage with a match-high 17 kills.

Nicole Michal led the Herd?s kill output with 11, while Isabell Anderer and Katie Stein each contributed 14 digs.

Marshall?s team hitting percentage in the match?s first two games reached negative digits, but the Herd was able to turn it around in the fourth game, registering a .333 percentage.

Marshall dropped a 3-0 decision in the Bearcat Invitational?s opening day versus the host Bearcats. The Herd will finish out the round robin tournament with a 5 p.m. match versus Butler.
