Track Competes in Virginia Tech Challenge

BLACKSBURG, Va. - The Marshall University track team competed in the Virginia Tech Challenge on Friday and Saturday.

Top finisher for the Herd was senior Shelby Pride (Bethel, Ohio) who placed fourth in the 5000-meter run with a time of 17:45.44. Fellow distance runner and senior Varinka Barbini (Flanders, N.J.) placed seventh in the 1000-meter run (3:00.85).

In field events junior Kristin Herron (Frankfort, Ky.) placed seventh in the long jump with a distance of 5.43m.

The Herd will return to action on Feb. 21 when it travels to Columbus, Ohio for the Scarlet and Gray Invitational.
