ATHENS, Ohio - The Marshall University track team placed fourth (13 teams competed) on Saturday April 3, at the Mc Donald's Invitational.
Junior Zedmalia Wolfe (Toronto, Ontario) led the Herd by placing first in the 200-meter (25.41), second in the 100-meter (12.66), and fourth in both the 4x100-meter and 4x400-meter relays. Joing Wolfe on the relay teams were freshman Kristin Herron (Frankfort, Ky.) and sophomores Karmen Collins (Slicklerville, N.J.) and Xavier Richards (Kingston, Jamaica).
"Zedmalia [Wolfe] did a great job for us," said Marshall University Head Coach Jeff Small, "she's having a terrific season. She usually just runs the longer sprints, but we dropped her down to the shorter ones and she is really excelling."
In the distance events, senior Shelby Pride (Bethel, Ohio) placed fourth in the 3000-meter steeplechase (11:58.08).
Freshman Teniqua Sutton (Westbury, N.J.) had a strong showing in the field, finishing fourth in the triple jump with a distance of 10.86-meters.
The Herd will be back in action on Saturday, April 10, when they travel to Oxford, Ohio to participate in the Miami Invitational.
