Track Completes Day One of MAC Championships

OXFORD, Ohio - The Marshall University track team completed day one of the Mid-American Conference Outdoor Championships today in Oxford, Ohio.

Senior Amanda Halsey (Dunkirk, Ohio) led the Herd on the first day of competition. Halsey placed seventh in the javelin (124-03) and 18th in the hammer (140-04).

Freshman Danyell Garner (Logan, W.Va.) is currently 17th in the heptathlon after four events. Garner placed 12th in the shot put (30-03.0), 15th in the 200-meter dash (27.40) and 16th in both the 100-meter hurdles (17.45) and the high jump (4:07.75).

Friday's action begins at 10 a.m. with the men's decathlon. The women's heptathlon will resume at 10:30 a.m.
