First Place Herd Volleyball Wraps Up Weekend with SMU

Huntington, W.Va. - After knocking off second-place Tulsa on Friday night 3-0, the Thundering Herd faces another tough challenge on Sunday afternoon in the Cam Henderson Center when it welcomes SMU to town.
SMU is coming off a thrilling 3-2 comeback win over East Carolina Friday night after being one-point away from defeat. ECU was up 29-27 with a 2-0 lead over the Mustangs, but the gritty SMU squad fought to the 3-2 win to improve to 11-11 overall and 7-3 in C-USA.
Sunday's match features the best offensive team in Conference USA, Marshall, against the best defensive squad in SMU. The Mustangs lead the league in blocks per game (2.78) and digs (19.44). Marshall leads every major statistical offensive category except for service aces, where the Herd is second.
Marshall is 30-4 in its last 34 matches in the Cam Henderson Center.
