Sutton Places Fourth at 49er Classic

CHARLOTTE, N.C. - Teniqua Sutton (Westbury, N.J.) placed fourth in the triple jump with a distance of 37-06.75 (11.45m) to lead the Thundering Herd on Saturday at the 49er Classic.
Adding points in the field was junior Stacie Belzer (Glassboro, N.J.) with a ninth place finish in the hammer with a throw of 142-04 (43.93m). Freshman Rachel Blankenship (Hurricane, W.Va.) added a 13th place finish in the shot put throwing a distance of 39-10.75 (12.16m).
On the track junior Stephanie Eastman (Spencer, W.Va.) and senior Kristin Herron (Frankfort, Ky.) finished 13th in the 800-meter run (2:19.74) and the 400-meter hurdles (1:04.93), respectively. Junior Karmen Collins (Slickerville, N.J.) had a 15th place finish in the 100-meter hurdles (14.91).
The Herd returns to the track on April 2 when it travels to Athens, Ohio to compete in the McDonald's Invitational.
