Koutsavlis Named MAC East Pitcher of the Week

CLEVELAND - Marshall pitcher Chris Koutsavlis (Pittsburgh, PA) was named the Mid-American Conference East Division Pitcher of the Week by the league office on Monday.
Koutsavlis had one of the best outings of his career on Saturday in game one of Saturday's doubleheader against St. Bonaventure.
He pitched his first nine-inning complete game, allowing an unearned run in the first inning of MU's 4-1 win over the Bonnies. After allowing the run and two hits in the first inning, he scattered six hits over the final eight innings for MU's first nine-inning complete game since the 2003 season. He struck out five and walked only one in the outing.
Marshall will resume play on Tuesday, facing the Duke University Blue Devils. First pitch is scheduled for 3 p.m.. The teams will also square off on Wednesday at the same time.
