Track and Field Completes First Day of Penn Relays

PHILADELPHIA, Pa. - The Marshall University track and field team completes the first day of competition at the 110th Penn Relays.
On the track for the Thundering Herd was the 4x100-meter relay team of Taneshia Becton (Pennsauken, N.J.), Ashli Creal (Chicago, Ill.), Terryn Webb (Beckley, W.Va.) and Teniqua Sutton (Westbury, N.J.) who finished eighth in the preliminary heat with a time of 48.88.
The 4x400-meter team comprised of Creal, Webb, Xavier Richards (Kingston, Jamaica) and Stephanie Eastman (Spencer, W.Va.) placed ninth in the preliminary heat running a time of 4:08.13.
Freshman Rachel Blankenship (Hurricane, W.Va.) had a 14th place finish in the shot put with a distance of 38 feet 7.5 inches.
The Herd returns to the track on Friday to compete in the 4x200-meter relay, the sprint medley relay and the triple jump.
