Marshall Finishes Day One of MAC Championships

ATHENS, Ohio - The Marshall University women's track team completed day one of the Mid-American Conference Championships hosted by Ohio University.

On the first day of competition sophomore Danyell Garner (Logan, W.Va.) competed in the first four events of the heptathlon. She finished 10th in the 100-meter hurdles (15.94), 11th in the high jump (4-10.25), fourth in the shot put (33-03.25) and sixth in the 200-meter dash (26.50). The heptathlon will be completed on Friday.

In the hammer throw Marshall's Stacie Belzer (Glassboro, N.J.), Brittani Keeney (Proctorville, Ohio) and Nicole Kyle (Keyser, W.Va.) finished 22nd, 23rd and 24th, respectively.

The second day of competition gets underway at 10 a.m. with the heptathlon and decathlon and will conclude at 5 p.m. with the steeplechase.
