Marshall Volleyball Hosts Pair of Weekend Matches

HUNTINGTON - The Marshall University Thundering Herd volleyball team will host a pair of matches this weekend at the Cam Henderson Center against Conference USA opponents. On Friday the Herd (11-8, 3-2 C-USA) will face the Memphis Tigers (16-2, 3-1 C-USA) at 7 p.m.

The match will be the first at home since Sept. 24. Last week the Herd was on the road against Tulsa and SMU. Marshall went 1-1 with a win over SMU.

Marshall's Kelly-Anne Billingy remains the NCAA's leader in kills per game for the second week in a row with an average of 6.27 and is 24th with 0.61 aces per game. She is also on top of the C-USA rankings with 7.1 points per game.

As a team the Herd ranks second in the conference in assists with an average of 14.56 per game, kills with 16.09 per game and blocks with 2.3.

Marshall's final match of the weekend will be against UAB (14-5, 2-2 C-USA) 1 p.m. on Sunday at the Henderson Center.
