Herd Volleyball to Visit Louisville for Cardinal Thanksgiving Classic

LOUISVILLE, Ky. - The Marshall Thundering Herd volleyball will be taking on the University of Louisville in the Cardinal Thanksgiving Classic on Friday at 7:30 p.m.
The Herd (20-11) has won six of its last eight while the Cardinals (23-6) come into the match as winners of 15 straight matches, including the Big East Tournament championship.
Louisville and Marshall have met nine times previously with U of L owning a one-match advantage in the series, 5-4. The two programs last met in 2001 with the Cardinals shutting out the Herd 3-0.
Marshall's Kelly-Anne Billingy is coming off of a career effort against Houston in the Conference USA Championships. Her 44 kills against the Cougars were a school and conference tournament record for the junior from Trincity, Trinidad. Her performance earned her a spot on the conference's all-tournament team.
Marshall junior Stephanie Cahill, a Louisville, Ky. native, will compete in her first match in her hometown for the Herd. Cahill leads the team with 13 double-doubles on the season and is second on the team in kills with 305 on the season.
