Lexington, Ky. - Marshall University junior Teniqua Sutton (Westbury, N.J) set a new school record with an indoor triple jump of 39-feet, five inches (12.01m) during the first day of the University of Kentucky's Kentucky Invitational at the E.J. Nutter Field House in Lexington.

Sutton's jump bettered the previous record of 39'01" that she set at the Akron Open in 2004 and gave her seventh place in the talented field. Patricia Mamona of Clemson University won the event with an NCAA Provisional jump of 42'1.5" (12.84m).

Two Thundering Herd throwers also recorded personal bests in the weight throw. Junior Britani Burke-Keeney (Proctorville, Ohio) recorded a throw of 50'6.25" and sophomore LaTricia Jones (Spartanburg, S.C.) recorded a throw of 50"3.25" to finish 16th and 17th, respectively.
