HUNTINGTON, W.Va. - Marshall University senior outside hitter Kelly-Anne Billingy tallied 14 kills and hit .394 for the match to help lift the Herd to a 3-0 (30-27, 30-21, 30-24) sweep of the University of Central Florida in Sunday afternoon's Conference USA volleyball match.

With the victory, Marshall wins its seventh match in a row and 14 of its last 15 to improve to 20-8 overall, 13-1 C-USA, and also marks the sixth consecutive season the Herd has reached the 20-plus-win mark.

Leading 2-0 in the match, Marshall built a 25-18 lead and received a kill apiece from Billingy, sophomore outside hitter Kristin Marcum, and sophomore middle blocker Layne Kehl to help extend that lead to 29-21. From there, UCF held off three consecutive match-points as Erin Campbell delivered three kills to bring the score to 29-24. Freshman middle blocker Kelley Bugler then blasted her only kill of the match to seal the three-game sweep for the Herd.

"They all do something different, their roles, their importance to the team are different, each and every one of them," head coach Mitch Jacobs said of the four seniors following the match. "There are no jealousies of who gets more sets or who gets to pass the ball or who blocks more balls. The chemistry has been amazing with them. To say that I will miss them is a complete understatement."

In game two, the teams fought to seven ties and a lead change before Marshall posted a 19-15 lead. Marshall then scored 11 of the next 16 points that included three kills from senior middle hitter Uche Ndubisi, two kills by freshman setter Elizabeth Fleming, a kill by Billingy and an ace by senior libero Maggie Arias, capped off by a kill from junior middle blocker Jalicia Ross.

In the first frame, the teams battled to 11 ties and four lead changes with neither team building more than a six-point lead. With the score knotted at 26, Marshall registered four of the next five points to pull away to a 30-27 victory.

The Herd finished with a .341 team hitting percentage as Fleming finished the match with 42 assists.

Senior outside hitter Stephanie Cahill tallied her 17th double-double of the year with 11 kills and 10 digs.

Arias notched a team-high 16 digs, while Marcum totaled 12 digs in the win.

Ndubisi recorded 9 kills, two solo blocks and an assisted block, while Ross chipped in with four assisted blocks in solid defensive performances for the Herd.

The Herd concludes regular season action when it travels to Birmingham, Ala., Friday, Nov. 9 to square off against UAB at 7:00 p.m. Marshall then travels to Memphis, Tenn., Sunday, Nov. 11, to face the Tigers. First serve is set for 1:00 p.m.
