Blankenship Finishes 10th in Shot Put at Penn Relays

PHILADELPHIA - Marshall University's Rachel Blankenship finished 10th in the shot put while competing in the Penn Relays at Penn's historic Franklin Field Thursday.
Blankenship recorded a throw of 13.60 meters to place 10th in the women's college division. The Thundering Herd's LaTricia Jones finished 12th with a season best toss of 13.30 meters, while Cara Rumburg recorded a throw of 12.31 meters to finish 20th.
The Thundering Herd women's 4x100-meter relay team and senior distance runner Marian Brooks also competed on Thursday. The 4x100 team of Angelica Harris, Breanna Jones, Andrea Jackson and Carmisa Morris recorded a time of 48.92 in their heat, while Brooks finished 26th in the 5,000-meter run with a time of 17:31.12.
