Herd Baseball Inks Local Outfielder Cameron Dunlavy

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. - Marshall University head baseball coach Jeff Waggoner announced today the signing of local product Cameron Dunlavy of Hurricane, W.Va., to a National Letter of Intent to play baseball for the Thundering Herd.

Dunlavy is a senior at Hurricane High School, currently the No. 1-ranked AAA team in West Virginia, where the 6-foot-2 outfielder is hitting .435 this season.

"We feel Cam will bring us more depth in the outfield," Waggoner said. "He also adds team speed and that was one thing that we knew that we had to get.

"Plus, Cam is a local kid and we are extremely excited about having him on campus. He will be a welcomed addition."

In the summer of 2006, Dunlavy stole a single-season team record 42 bases for the Huntington Hounds of the National Amateur Baseball Federation, the state's elite summer amateur program. He was also a member of the 2005 NABF World Series All-Tournament Team.
