DALLAS - The Football Writers Association of America (FWAA) has announced its preseason Watch List for the 2007 Outland Trophy and the 2007 Bronko Nagurski Trophy, which features a pair of Marshall University standouts. Thundering Herd senior center Doug Legursky (Beckley, W.Va.) is one of 41 players on the Outland Trophy Watch List while junior defensive end Albert McClellan (Lakeland, Fla.) is part of the 49-man Nagurski Trophy Watch List.

The Outland Trophy has been awarded to the best interior lineman in college football since 1946. The Bronko Nagurski Trophy, awarded to the best defensive player in college football, has been a staple of the FWAA's awards since 1993. The winners are selected by the FWAA's All-America Committee, which selects the association's 25-man All-America team.

Legursky, a two-time Rimington Trophy candidate, has started 23 straight games for the Herd over the last two seasons. A 2006 All-Conference USA First Team selection, Legursky anchors an offensive line that returns two other starters from a year ago.

McClellan, the 2006 C-USA Defensive Player of the Year, ranked in the top-10 in the NCAA in three defensive categories: tackles for loss (6th), sacks (7th) and forced fumbles (10th). His 19 tackles for loss and 11 sacks paced C-USA, while his 6.5 tackles for loss on Nov. 11 at East Carolina set a school record.

Former Marshall defensive end Johnathan Goddard was a finalist for the 2004 Nagurski Trophy.
