Volleyball Travels To Tulane, Sunday

NEW ORLEANS, La. - The Marshall University volleyball squad will travel to the bayou Sunday, to take on Tulane in a Conference USA showdown. First-serve is slated for 2:00 p.m. ET in New Orleans.

Marshall (10-8 overall, 3-5 C-USA) is fresh off its second straight conference sweep after dispatching UTEP, 3-0, Friday. Jalicia Ross (Bank Village, Trinidad) led all attackers with 16 kills and hit at a staggering .800 clip for the match (16K, 0E, 20TA). The last time the Thundering Herd had a player hit above .800 was in 2005, when Nickie Sanlin blasted 12 kills on 14 swings with no errors, registering an .857 hitting clip.

Ross now leads the team with 191 total kills (averaging a team-best 2.85 kills per set) on 346 total attacks while committing just 31 errors to give her a .462 hitting percentage. Elizabeth Fleming's (South Bend, Ind.) 46 assists against the Miners gives her 749 for the season, while Jessica Dhoore (LaPorte, Ind.) leads the green and white with 186 digs on the year.

Marshall is 2-1 all-time against the Green Wave dating back to 2005. The Herd took a 3-0 decision in the last meeting between the teams in 2007, in a match that saw Ross drill six kills in addition to recording two solo blocks and four assisted blocks.

Tulane stands at 15-5 overall and 6-1 in the conference and is currently on a four-match winning streak and has now won 14 of its last 15 contests. Tulane swept East Carolina 3-0 in Friday's contest to post its third straight sweep in as many matches.

Sara Radosevic blasted 14 kills while Bridget Wells had 10. Jen Miller led the defensive effort with 22 digs. Tulane ran its offense with two setters, Luna Rebrovic, who dished out 16 assists, and Rachel Lindelow who added 14 helpers. The Green Wave held the Pirates to just a .019 hitting percentage for the match.

Radosevic has now tallied 264 kills on the season, followed by Wells' 246 blasts. Miller leads the squad with 275 digs while Radosevic has added 193. Jen Linder has been a force at the net, registering 72 total blocks (5 solo, 67 assisted), while Rebrovic has dished out a team-high 480 assists. Lindelow has totaled 301 assists for Tulane this season.

Marshall returns to C-USA action when it welcomes SMU and Tulsa to the Cam Henderson Center, Friday Oct. 24 and Sunday Oct. 26. Friday's first-serve is slated for 7:00 p.m., while Sunday's contest is set for a 12:00 p.m. start.
