Wexford Intercollegiate - FINAL RESULTS 
HILTON HEAD ISLAND, S.C. - The Marshall University men's golf team finished the 54-hole, 15-team Wexford Intercollegiate, hosted by Francis Marion University at the par-72, 6,828-yard Wexford Plantation Course, in 12th place on Tuesday.
Marshall's score of 927 (306-304-317), like the majority of teams at the event, ballooned thanks to high winds on Hilton Head Island for Tuesday's final round. Elon (890) claimed the team title by one stroke over Furman (891) with Kennesaw State (898) coming in third place.
The Thundering Herd's Christian Brand, a sophomore, carded Marshall's best round of the tournament with his opening-round 74 on Monday. He concluded the event with scores of 79 and 77 for a team-best 230, placing him in a tie for 35th along with teammate Trent Schambach. The senior posted a round of 6-over 78 on Tuesday.
Herd sophomore Josh Boswell (235) recorded two rounds in the 70s on day one, but dropped to a 10-over 82 in the final 18 holes. Boswell finished in a tie for 52nd place.
Elon's Jimmy Lytle (210) claimed medalist honors by an impressive nine strokes over second-place Oliver West (219) of Kennesaw State. Lytle's six-under score made him the lone golfer under par for the tournament.
The Herd will return to South Carolina for its next event, the Palmetto Intercollegiate in Aiken, S.C., from March 10-11.
