Marshall Women's Track Finish Up 2008 Indoor Season

HOUSTON, Texas - In a season that saw two school records broken, on five occasions, the Marshall University women's track wrapped-up its 2008 indoor campaign with the C-USA Championships in Houston, Texas.
Senior Rachel Blankenship (Hurricane, W.Va.) was able to finish fifth in the shot put with a throw of 46 feet and 10 inches. This season alone, Blankenship broke the school record at three meets.
The Thundering Herd also picked up two other top ten finishes in the throwing events with junior LaTricia Jones (Spartansburg, S.C.) earning fourth in the weight throw (57 feet and two and a half inches) and senior Britani Keeney (Proctorville, Ohio) finished seventh in the same event (54 feet and eight and ¾ inches).
Sophomore Andrea Jackson (Sumter, S.C.), who has set two school marks in the triple jump, was able to notch a sixth place in the event. Teammate Teniqua Sutton (Westbury, N.Y.) was able to place ninth in the same event.
