Marshall Women's Track Open Outdoor Season

CONWAY, S.C. - After an eventful indoor season, Marshall University women's track team will start its outdoor season this weekend at the Shamrock Invitational hosted by Coastal Carolina University.

During the indoor season, senior Rachel Blankenship set three different school records in the shot put event. Her best throw came at the Virginia Tech Challenge going a distance of 47 feet and seven and ¼ inches.

Blankenship wasn't the only Thundering Herd to re-write school history. Sophomore Andrea Jackson set two school marks in the triple jump. Her top performance reached a mark of 40 feet and ½ an inch at the Tiger Invitational.
