ROCK HILL, S.C. - Sophomore Andrea Jackson earned a second place spot in the triple jump on the final day of the Asics/Winthrop Invitational with a jump of 11.52m to lead all Marshall University competitors Sunday.

Jackson, who owns the indoor school record, finished behind Shemelia Brandon from Radford.

Freshman Alexis Duvaul obtained her first top 10 finish as a member of the Thundering Herd women's track team with a ninth place finish in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 1:09.58.

Duvaul's classmate Darby Mullen gained a second place position in the 5000-meter run. Mullen's time of 18.24.28 was only a second behind Delaware's Cassie White.

During day one, senior Rachel Blankenship hit a NCAA qualifying mark in the shot put event with a throw of 47 feet and one half inches. Blankenship's throw also setting a school outdoor record beating out Shani Brown's 45 feet and four and ¼ throw from 2004.

Blankenship now owns both school records in the shot put. She earned the indoor record this past season with a mark of 47 feet and seven and ¼ inches.

The Herd will now prepare to compete at the Duke Invitational April 4-5.
