Baseball Signee Earns All-Region Accolades

ST. LOUIS, Mo. - Marshall University's 2009 baseball signee Joe Church was named to the 2008 Rawlings/Perfect Game Preseason Atlantic Region All High School Senior Team as recently announced by Rawlings Sporting Goods.
The award recognizes the top 400 high school baseball athletes in the U.S., while also showcasing their abilities to collegiate and professional scouts. In partnership with Perfect Game USA, the world's largest scouting report service. The players come from eight regions around the United States to form a 50-man roster, complete with catchers, pitchers, infielders and outfielders.
"These selected athletes are being recognized for their skill, athleticism, and dedication to their game which allows them to perform to the highest level of game play," said Rawlings Vice-President Mike Thompson. "With more than 240,000 high school athletes in the nation, these players represent the very best in their class."
Church, a 6-foot-1-inch right-hander from Princeton, W.Va., attends Pikeview High School, was a 2007 all-state selection, was a member of the Charlotte Megastars and ranked 115 in the Perfect Game 2008 Class.
