Baseball Names Conner Director of Baseball Operations

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. - Marshall University head baseball coach Jeff Waggoner recently named Chad Conner the Director of Baseball Operations for the 2009 season.

Conner is currently serving as an assistant coach with the Brewster Whitecaps of the prestigious Cape Cod League and will assume his duties with the Thundering Herd during the upcoming fall semester.

Conner's coaching career started when he was named interim head coach at Bacone College in Muskogee, Okla., in 2005. While at Bacone, Conner's primary coaching responsibilities focused on the catchers and hitters. Other duties included recruiting, field work, fundraising and preparing fall practices.

From April 2006-May 2008, Conner taught at Extra Innings Baseball Academy in Watertown, Mass., helping kids develop skills in all facets of the game.

Conner began his collegiate baseball career at Fresno City Junior College. Conner received a degree in Health and Education from Texas Tech in 2004.
