JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. - Sophomore Kristin Smith (Baltimore, Md.) takes second place in the high jump as the Thundering Herd finish the Niswonger Invitational hosted by East Tennessee State.
Smith, who finished second in the high jump at the Conference USA outdoor championships last spring, had a mark of 1.71m which is a personal best at Marshall. She also finished eighth in the long jump even with a leap of 4.92m.
The throwers placed two in the top ten with freshman Raivyn Chancellor (Anderson, S.C.) finished seventh in the shot put (12.21m) and senior Rachel Bilek (Hebron, Ind.) placed eighth in the weight throw (14.97m).
In the distance events, sophomore cross country standout Kathleen Clark (Twinsburg, Ohio) earned a ninth place finish in the 800-meter with a time of 2:22.92.
Women's track will have a short week as a group of student-athletes will travel to New York City to compete in the New Balance Invitational Feb. 6-7.
