Marshall Men's Golf Finishes 11th At Xavier Invitational

CINNCINATI, Ohio-The Marshall University men's golf team finished 11th (893) at the Xavier Invitational Oct. 6 at the Oasis Golf Course. Akron took home top team honors with a 54-hole total of 849.
Nathan Kerns (Fr., Ironton, Ohio, Ironton H.S.) was the top performing MU golfer as he came in 23rd as he posted a one over 217 (73-70-74) for the meet. Akron's Lucas Murray took home individual honors (66-72-68-206).
Bosten Miller (So., Charleston, W.Va., Capital H.S.) put up the best the Marshall score of the final round, an even-par 72, on his way to tying for 24th (72-74-72-218) with four other players in the tournament.
Aaron Boggs (RS-Fr., Madison, W.Va., Scott H.S.) tied with two other players for 47th (77-72-77-226).
Bennett Boyer (RS-Jr., Millersburg, Pa., Millersburg Area H.S.) tied for 55th (74-77-81-232) with two other players.
Phil DiLorenzo (RS-Sr., Weirton, W.Va., Brooke H.S.) placed 68th (83-81-86-250).
Playing as an individual, Carson Schambach (So., Glen Dale, W.Va., John Marshall H.S.) finished 63rd (81-69-87-237). Schambach's second round 69 was a career best.
MU resumes action next Monday and Tuesday at the Bearcat Invitational. The University of Cincinnati hosts the event at the Traditions Golf Course.
