4x400 Group Runs Past Field at Marietta College Alumni Meet

MARIETTA, Ohio - The 4x400 team of Rolanda Bruce, Kristin Smith, Rachel Coaxum and Breanna Jones took first place at the Marietta College Alumni Meet.
The team finished the event in four-minutes flat but the great time is nearly seven seconds short of the school record in 2007.
Coaxum (Catlett, Va.) added to her day with a first place finish in the 55-meter hurdle with a time of 8.30 and a second place finish in triple jump with a leap of 11.50m.
Sophomore Kathleen Clark (Twinsburg, Ohio) also picked up a pair of top ten finishes including second in the 800-meter (2:21.21) and seventh in the 1-mile (5:22.33).
In the throws events, junior Cara Rumburg (Princeton, W.Va.) finished fifth in the shot put (12.65m) and eighth in the weight throw (13.93m).
Women's track will have a short week as a group of student-athletes will travel to the Akron Open Feb. 13-14.
