Women's track wins three events at EKU Open

RICHMOND, Ky. - The Marshall University women's track team had three individuals win events at Friday's EKU Open.

Freshman Lauren DeHays (Tipp City, Ohio) won the 400-meter hurdle with a time of 1:06.73. DeHays also earned top ten finishes in the high jump placing fifth and seventh in the javelin.

Her classmate, Raivyn Chancellor (Anderson, S.C.) managed two top three placing in throwing events with first in the discus (45.79m) and third in the shot put (12.25m).

Senior Kwema Phillander (Trinidad) continued her final season with a first place finish in the javelin with a distance of 38.04m.

On the day, the Thundering Herd picked up 31 top ten finishes with 19 being top five places. The team will now gear up for the Penn Relays starting April 22 in Philadelphia.
