Volleyball Adds Tomas To 2009 Signing Class

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. - Marshall University head volleyball coach Mitch Jacobs recently announced the addition of Abby Tomas to the volleyball squad. Tomas signed a National Letter of Intent to play for the Thundering Herd beginning in 2009.
Tomas is a 6-foot-2-inch outside/right-side hitter from Aledo, Texas who will bring tremendous size to the position in the upcoming season.
"She has a very big arm," Jacobs stated. "It's great to get another player from Texas into our program, we play there quite often."
Tomas competed at Uvalde High School during her freshman and sophomore seasons before transferring to Aledo High School for her final two years.
In 2008, Tomas was named First-Team All-District and her team finished as the undefeated district champions, bi-district champions, and area champions during her junior and senior seasons.
Tomas is also a member of the National Honors Society.
