Women's track finishes season at C-USA Championships

TULSA, Okla. - The Marshall University women's track team completed it's 2009 outdoor season finishing 12th this weekend at the Conference USA championships hosted by the University of Tulsa.
Junior Andrea Jackson (Sumter, S.C.) placed sixth in the triple jump event with a leap of 12.53m. Last year at C-USA, Jackson finished 10th with a 12.28m.
Jackson's classmate Rolanda Bruce (East Orange, N.J.) also picked up sixth place in the 400-meter hurdle with a time of 1:03.44. She improved two spots from the preliminary as she was eighth.
Sophomore Kristin Smith (Baltimore, Md.) who won the indoor pentathlon title at C-USA, finished 14th in the outdoor heptathlon. She did pick up eighth in the high jump with a mark of 1.65m.
Rounding out top ten finishes junior Molly Grove (Bunker Hill, W.Va.) earned ninth in the hammer throw (49.15m) and senior Breanna Jones (Columbia, S.C.) placed 10th in the 100-meter hurdles (14.07m).
