Men's Golf Team Announces 2010 Spring Schedule

HUNTINGTON, W. Va.-- Marshall University Men's Golf Coach Joe Feaganes announced his squad's 2010 Spring Schedule, July 24.
The Thundering Herd will open the Spring slate at the South Florida Invitational, Mar. 5-7. A week later, Marshall heads to Pinehurst, N.C. for the Pinehurst Intercollegiate. The meet will be played on the Pinehurst No. 8 course, where the 1997 and 1998 PGA Club Professional Championships were held. Mar. 19-21 sees MU travel to the Furman Intercollegiate in Greenville, S.C. The Herd end the month at 36-hole Ball State/Cardinal Collegiate in Jasper, Ind.
After a bye week, Marshall tees off the month of April on the 10th and 11th at the UK/Bluegrass Invitational at the Big Blue Course in Lexington. The regular season ends Apr. 25-27 at the Conference USA Championship which will be hosted by the Central Florida Sports Commission on a course that is to be determined.The Marshall Invitational, traditionally played in April, will become a Fall tournament beginning in 2010.
"I think we have put together a very strong, competitive, and diverse schedule which features several new events that we haven't played in before," Feaganes said. "In every tournament, there will be several nationally ranked teams, but this what you play for...to see how good you are!"
