Baseball Announces Date for 2009 Fall Skills Camp

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. - The Marshall University baseball coaching staff announced the 2009 Fall Skills Camp will be held at Power Park in Charleston, W.Va., on Sept. 27 from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. The camp is for high school athletes between grades 9-12 and costs $80 to attend.
Power Park is Marshall baseball's home field for Conference USA games and for the Single-A affiliate of the Pittsburgh Pirates. Head Baseball Coach, Jeff Waggoner and his staff of Joe Renner, Tim Donnelly, George Brumfield and Brandon Casamassima will be overseeing and conducting camp activities. Other collegiate coaches will be attendance at the camp to evaluate the skills of all camp participants.
The Marshall 2009 Fall Skills Camp is designed to teach campers the advanced skills and baseball strategies necessary to perform at the highest level. The coaching staff will evaluate the strengths and weaknesses of each player and provide drills to enhance each skill set. The coaches will work closely with each camper with the goal of improving the skills, confidence and baseball profile by providing each individual with the maximum amount of instruction, information and playing time.
The skills camp will run from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 27th. High school athletes between grades 9-12 are invited to attend. It will consist of a skills test (60-yard dash and positional arm strength) and simulated games. Any questions about the camp contact Coach Donnelly at Donnelly7@marshall.edu.
