Fleming Named Conference USA Setter of the Week

IRVING, Texas - Elizabeth Fleming was named Conference USA Setter of the Week (Aug. 31-Sept. 6) announced by league officials Tuesday afternoon.

Fleming, a junior, earned MVP honors at the High Point University Classic. During the week, Fleming dished out a total 174 assists, for an average of 11.6 per set. She recorded two double-doubles, including a 53-assist, 15-dig performance in a come-from-behind five-set win against Charlotte.

Marshall was a perfect 3-0 at the tournament and 4-0 for the week. The Herd is now 7-0 on the season, the best start in program history, surpassing the 1980 MU team that started 6-0.

This marks the seventh time that Fleming has garnered the C-USA Setter of the Week award. She had previously taken the weekly honor four times as a freshman and twice during her sophomore season.

Next on the schedule for MU is a tilt against North Carolina A&T on Tuesday at 6 p.m. in Greensboro, N.C.
