HUNTINGTON, W.Va. - The Marshall University volleyball team travels to Texas to play Conference USA opponents Rice and Houston over the upcoming weekend. The Thundering Herd will play the Owls at 6 p.m. EST on Friday evening, followed by a Sunday tilt with the Cougars starting at 2 p.m. EST.

Marshall Scouting Report
9-17, 3-11 C-USA
The Thundering Herd looks to improve upon its road record on the season. MU has struggled away from the Cam Henderson Center, with no victories in ten matches. The Herd is 7-5 at home and 2-2 in neutral site games in 2010.

Senior Elizabeth Fleming is closing in 5,000 assists for her career, sitting just 28 shy for her four-year career. Fleming would become the third player in program history to surpass this milestone. She currently sits eighth in C-USA history in assists as well and is averaging 9.77/set on the season.

Classmate Elizabeth Herman tops the Herd in kills on the season with 363 and is averaging 3.86/set. Herman has 909 career kills, nearing the 1,000 career mark.

Freshman Dorothy Rahal has recorded 277 digs as the starting libero, averaging a team-best 3.08 digs/set.

Rice Scouting Report
14-13, 9-6 C-USA
The Owls host the Herd after dropping a pair of matches last weekend to Memphis and UAB, both in five sets. Rice swept MU in Huntington on Oct. 29.

Setter Meredith Schuman is dishing out 10.35 helpers/set and ranks one slot ahead of Fleming on the all-time assist list in the conference. Libero Tracey Lam pasted the 2,000 dig mark for her career and is the school's all-time leader and second in C-USA history in that statistic.

Houston Scouting Report
17-10, 11-4 C-USA
Houston is riding a five-match winning streak in league play, with four of the victories being three-set sweeps. The Cougars are 6-2 at home in conference games on the season.

Lucy Charuk is averaging 3.28 kills/set and a league-best 1.25 blocks/frame on the season. She has also connected for 21 service aces and a team-best 402 points.
