Volleyball Battles Top Two Conference USA Squads on the Road

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. - The Marshall University volleyball team is slated to play at SMU on Friday at 8 p.m. EST, followed by a Sunday match at No. 25 Tulsa with first serve scheduled for 2 p.m. EST.
Marshall Scouting Report
9-15, 3-9 C-USA
The Thundering Herd looks to avenge a pair of losses to Tulsa and SMU that took place in October. Marshall dropped the first matchup with Tulsa (3-0) and made a valiant effort against SMU before falling in five sets.
Against the Mustangs, senior Elizabeth Herman posted a career-high 30 kills. The Dunwoody, Ga., native is one of two C-USA players to tally 30-or-more spikes in a match this season.
Elizabeth Fleming continues to make her mark in the MU and C-USA record books. After last weekend, the senior moved into eighth place all-time in conference history in career assists with 4,894.
Tulsa Scouting Report
23-2, 13-0 C-USA
The No. 25 ranked Tulsa Golden Hurricane owns a perfect 13-0 league record and hold the nation's longest winning streak of 22-straight matches.
Outside hitter Tyler Henderson and setter Jordan Clampitt have been statistical monsters in not only the league but the entire NCAA. Henderson tops the country in kills/set (6.49) and points (6.97), while Clampitt leads the nation in assists/set (13.43).
SMU Scouting Report
19-5, 11-2 C-USA
The Mustangs sit in second place in the league standings, with the two conference losses coming to Tulsa and Houston.
As a team, SMU ranks first in the conference in digs/set (17.63) and ranks 13th in the NCAA in that statistic, led by Sidney Stewart who corrals 4.74 digs/set. The Mustangs are holding opponents to a league-best .168 attacking percentage.
