Maynard Captures Baseball's Herd Challenge

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. - Senior Justin Maynard finished with a team-best 67 points to earn the crown in the fourth annual Herd Challenge, which concluded on Wednesday morning at Joan C. Edwards Stadium.
A native of Huntington, Maynard won four events on the first day, followed by earning ten points on the second day. He finished up the three-day event by placing fourth in the grueling Herd Gauntlet in a time of 3:52 to gain 27 points and secure a first place finish.
Sophomore Isaac Ballou finished tied for second in the Herd Gauntlet with Ian Kadish, as they finished second and third in overall points with 57 and 50. Victor Ramos, Shane Farrell and 2009 Herd Challenge Champion Rhett Stafford finished tied for fourth place.
Freshman Hunter May completed the Herd Gauntlet in an impressive 3:40, tops on the Herd baseball club.
