Baseball Announces Dates of Winter Hitting League

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. - The Marshall University baseball team will begin its winter hitting league with instruction from volunteer assistant coach Jeff Rowley and director of baseball operations Brandon Casamassima, both former Thundering Herd players, beginning Sunday, Jan. 16 from 6-8 p.m.
The focus of this camp is to provide instruction in an organized and enjoyable atmosphere through five sessions. The art of hitting will be addressed through drill work and evaluation of each participant's swing. In addition to general mechanics, areas of emphasis will include situational offense, bunting, and the mental aspect of hitting.
Camp Philosophy:
The continued success of the Marshall Baseball Camps may be largely attributed to the staff's commitment to the individual player. Through limited enrollment, low player/teacher ratios are maintained ensuring each camper the quality instruction to maximize development. Every effort will be made to instill in each participant the muscle memory necessary to habituate correct form with drill work and close supervision. This league will available for all participants between fifth and 12th grade.
Cost:
$100 for 5 sessions or $20/per session

Junior League 5th-8th
High School League 9th-12th
What to Bring:
Baseball cap, bat, glove, tennis shoes for indoor work and catching gear if you are registered as a catcher.
