HUNTINGTON , W.Va. - Marshall University men's soccer head coach Bob Gray has announced the 2010 spring schedule, which is highlighted by a trip Columbus, Ohio, for an exhibition game with the Columbus Crew of the MLS.

MU begins competition with a trip to Winston-Salem, N.C., on March 6th where the Herd will play High Point and Gardner Webb.

"We typically like to get one play date in before spring break," said Gray. "Then it's every weekend until the end of the month in April."

April begins with the trip to Columbus, followed by a two-game set in Farmville, Va., against Longwood University and William & Mary. The Thundering Herd travels up route 64 to Charleston, W.Va., on April 10th to host Slippery Rock and the University of Cumberlands, and then travels Lexington, Ky., the following weekend to play Dayton and Evansville.

The Herd concludes its spring schedule with the annual Alumni game on April 25th at Sam Hood Field.

"We're excited about our upcoming schedule for the spring," Gray said. "We know we are facing quality programs in each of our five playing dates and the guys are thrilled to play the Crew again like we did last year. The spring season allows us to try new things, play guys in different spots, and see where we stand as a team going into the fall."
