HUNTINGTON, W.Va. - The Marshall University baseball team travels to Eastern Kentucky in a midweek nonconference game on Wednesday at 3 p.m. at Turkey Hughes Field.

The Thundering Herd enters the midweek tilt after winning one-of-three at Tulane in the C-USA season opener. Kirby Pellant led the squad batting 5-for-11 (.385) for the series out of the leadoff spot, while Victor Gomez hit a homer and five RBI in the series. V.Gomez is currently tied for the school record in RBI with 139, on a 16-game hit streak and leads the team in homers (seven), RBI (30) and batting average (.371).
Eastern Kentucky (11-11, 3-0 OVC)
The Colonels are red hot after sweeping its first Ohio Valley Conference series against Eastern Illinois this past weekend. The EKU offense is led by Jayson Langfels, who is hitting .424 average with 10 doubles, seven homers and 24 RBI.
