Herd Soccer Opens Spring Play Saturday Afternoon

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – The Marshall University men’s soccer team begins its spring schedule competition this Saturday in North Carolina as the Herd will take on High Point and Gardner-Webb.

The matches are set for Saturday as the Herd will play High Point at noon, followed by Gardner-Webb at 2 p.m.

This spring looms large for the Herd as it looks to build upon its successful 2009 campaign in which MU finished second in Conference USA and made a run to the championship game, before losing to Elite 8 participant, Tulsa.

This is the first of five competition dates Marshall is allotted. After this weekend, Marshall has a month to prepare for a friendly with the Columbus Crew of Major League Soccer.
